Yayasan Rumah Rachel (“Rachel House”) is a pediatric hospice that provides end-of-life care to children with life-threatening conditions. Rachel House was established in late 2006 with the vision that no child should die alone, in pain and unloved. Since then, it has successfully trained the very first batch of nurses in Indonesia in pediatric palliative care, to manage the pain and symptoms exhibited by children in the terminal stages of cancer and HIV. Living by the ethos that “we are not here to add days to the children’s lives, but add life to their remaining days”.

From Wednesday to Friday July 3oth, Potato Head launched Summer Edition, a once yearly event that celebrates music, art and culinary with a taste of cocktail mixology never before seen in Jakarta. Day one of the Summer Edition, the legendary Indonesian musician Iwan Fals performed a private show at Potato Head that became the most talked-about performance amongst the music aficionados. Day two saw some of the most prominent photographers in Indonesia such as Keke Tumbuan, Wimo Ambala Wayang and Albert Judiyanto showcasing their installations inside Potato Head in an interactive showdown between the photographers and audience.

Summer Edition Finale on Friday became a huge success with a turnout of over a thousand guests who came to celebrate Potato Head Birthday Party, as well as paying a tribute to Andy Warhol. The Absinthe bar was a surreal experience, with a projected visual echoing the enigmatic era of Warhol circa 1970s. As part of Potato Head first anniversary issue, The Rapture performed live close to 12:00 midnight while Teater Garasi opened the show with their powerful ensemble. Everything was visually captivating from start to finish with graffiti street artists showing their artistic talents on a giant canvas right opposite the venue creating what turns out to be the most eclectic piece yet in just under two hours!

Thank you to all the guests that came and enjoyed themselves thoroughly, Mr. Andy Warhol would have been very proud indeed!
